So, what parts of crypt.c still remain un-exportable? Can you move the
exportable stuff to a different file so us Outside can replace the
non-exportable crypt.c with some DES stuff (*)

Also, is libtelnet's enc_des.c getting the same workover? If so, is
it possible for it to use the same non-exportable drop-in?

Note: for people serving off the Australian mirror netbsd.rmit.edu.au:
the source there will continue to use FreeSec until David gives me
something to replace the non-exportable stuff in the re-worked code.
