It was pointed out to me that the faults happened with other cards as
well, not only 3c509.  Does it happen on non-i386 archs then?  I
believe not, as I've never seen it.  Perhaps it's in the i386 code
then.  I saw Charles' fixed some spl setting in isa_machdev, could
that be relevant?
