Is there any way to give a CDROM in user access without
violating basic system security principles?
Are usermount (suid root) scripts bad in general or are
there ways to do them "right"?
Is there a way to allow rockridge extension on CD's but
change all permissions that are suid or change all owner-marks
to the user that accesses the files?

Is there a good software to make CDROM images?
We have a CDROM write connected to a Dec and i
can use it. But i dont have root access at this
Dec. So i cant burn CDROMs with all permissions
because i have to untar my datas on this machine.
I would like to make the image at home and
untar the image as one file on the Dec.
Then i would be able to make a CDROM with
full permissions.

thank you for any hint,
ciao
Carsten
