I just upgraded to -current as of yesterday (23 Feb 1996), and I'm happy to
report that my Exabyte 8200, which has hung my system every time I've tried
to get it to work with NetBSD (any flavour), is now working, and I just
completed a full backup under NetBSD for the first time!
This has done wonders for my system... I no longer have to boot my sparc
under SunOS single-user to perform needed backups!
To all who contributed the recent SCSI fixes (and to everyone who's
contributed to NetBSD in general) THANK YOU!!
To everyone who's had tape drive problems under 1.1 and earlier: try it!
I've found that the new patches cause the kernel to be a lot more finicky
about accessing the drive when it's not ready, but in general it seems a
*lot* more robust.
