Speak for yourself, please.  I don't have money to go and buy more disk if
I run out of room.

My opinion is that cheap disk space, cpu speed and memory are not excuses
to suddenly use more of any of them, be it by shoddy programming or the
attitude that "they're cheap so there's no reason for limitation anymore".

Personally, FWIW, I don't see a lot to gain by linking them statically.
