I'm running into some problems with my new Sony CD-R (926S, if it makes
a difference). The cdrecord program from the packages builds OK, and
the mkisofs seems to work find. I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't a
problem with my Ultrastore-34. The tape drives all stopped working
reliably (three different drives, two from Archive, one from Wangtek)
and now this with the CD-R.
The problem occurs when I try to run the following commands:
cdrecord -checkdrive dev=2,0
-or-
cdrecord -inq dev=2,0
Rather than waste a lot of time on the group, does anyone have any
information or can anyone help me out a little bit?
The errors in the system log (SCSIVERBOSE is your friend :-) look like
this:
Nov 20 05:38:09 cynjut /netbsd: cd0(uha0:2:0): Check Condition on opcode 0x25
Nov 20 05:38:09 cynjut /netbsd: SENSE KEY: Illegal Request

BTW: Anyone want to buy a CD-R (new, in the box) relatively cheap
(under $300)? If so, let me know.
