BTW, anyone thought of splitting pkgsrc.tar.gz into smaller pieces? 

I upgrade via tar files on tape - copied from a sup mirror at work.
The existing tar file is sufficiently huge and takes sufficiently long
to unpack that I don't do it very often.

I know that much of pkgsrc needs to be kept in sync with the make
macros etc, but there are probably big bits of the current collection
(games spring to mind) that I (and I assume others) are not likely to
use.

Just a thought.
