Let me sum this up, here:

You want NetBSD Core to dedicate resources to it and make it public
at your behest, but you're not willing to share your own resources
to achieve your own ends.

Pardon me, but that seems just a touch two-faced.  I don't know whether
a dog-in-the-manger tag or a pot-calling-kettles-black tag would
be more appropriate.

If it's so great, build it and share with the rest of the elite
architectures (alpha/i386).

But the sentiment I seem to be reading is "don't expect us to put
it up given the short demand".

Hmph.

What really needs to happen for CVS is not just to think, "what's
broken/how do we fix it?" but "What is the big picture we should
be addressing?"  Versioned "views" and quick updates (deltas) should
be part of that design.
