I've had to strip down a GENERIC kernel the other day and got so bored by
looking if lines from the GENERIC file were in the dmesg output that I
wrote a small perl script to do that job.
The usage is:
cd /sys/arch/.../conf
adjustkernel GENERIC >CUSTOM
I have only tried this on 1.4.1/i386, if someone wants any features added,
send me patches. :-) The script can be found at
