This doesn't seem to work:

Am I missing something? The package I am testing -B on compiles clearly when I replace /usr/bin/as
with the new version.

PS. When I added "PATH = /usr/pkg/bin:/usr/bin" to the front of the Makefile, it worked fine.
Is it acceptable way to deal with this?
