Well, as you said, this is not the exact cause of my problem, but it
*did* lead me to discover that I had created ~/.opera as a symlink
to a directory in /var/tmp that no longer existed after my reinstall!
(I had been using Opera 6.03 or so successfully for over a year)
Opera still crashes on exit, but this seems to have made the random
crashes occur with less frequency, and at least now it saves my
preferences. :)
