just a fyi...

matt thomas and anders magnusson did a bunch of work today getting the
exec code cleaned up somewhat (granted, while what i did worked, it
wasn't the bext way to do it -- thanks matt) and added the
USE_TOPDOWN_VM option to the vax port.

my understanding is that this is a *big win* for the vax, since now
the space available for mmap and/or heap is greatly increased.
