Same thing happened here with a coolpix 995 and a usb flash card on
~week old sources. It seems to be better with today's sources, but I'm
not placing any bets on whether it was the fresh sources or the fresh
reboot that fixed things.  Umass over usb has always been
probabilistic for me.
