Managed to compile 1.6ZG and create a release CD (non-bootable,
unfortunately) using the build.sh tools ... not done that before, so
experience was good to gain ...

Managed to boot from floppy, then install new system into the mini-root
environment on one server ... very happy to report throughput to the
drives now being reported at ober 10M/s sustained, according to iostat.

so, all looking good, now to finish the upgrade install and push that
out to the other boxen ... thanks a lot guys ... :)
