It's a ppp connection, right ?
Maybe the ifq for the ppp interface is too low.
You can try to bump the IFQ_MAXLEN options. There's also the
net.inet.ip.ifq.maxlen sysctl, but it's probably not writable (and the
interface drivers use IFQ_MAXLEN anyway).
