I've got on old PII machine with two NIC-s
DEC 21..."whatever" and SMC EtherPower II 10/100
the problem occures with the last one

at the device initialization stage the full
process fails with "failed to enable memory mapping!"
error, meaning that is no way to communicate through
the memory at all. but the driver - what I'm currently
using is not able to do its task through the I/O port...

any idea?
