After spelunking in the PR database a bit, I've fixed quite a few bugs in the 
last day.  Some of these changes need further testing (*even on machines that 
were working before*).  If you have any of:

* LEMAC ISA Ethernet card
* NE2000-clone Ethernet card (ISA, ISA PnP, PCMCIA *or* PCI)
* APM
* PNPBIOS
* ServerWorks chipset
* PC-type serial ports (including clone UARTs on non-PC platforms)

...then please test them in -current again and let me know the results.  
dmesg(8) output before and after is especially helpful in the PNPBIOS and 
ServerWorks cases.
