When you said "was included", did you mean it was merged into the sources?
Or enabled in your kernel config?

This error-message clearly (the other one rather unclearly) indicate that
your kernel was not compiled with MPPE-stuff, thus its "not supported" 
(in the current config, to make it even more logical).
