For some reason I don't understand `acpi0 at mainbus0' and `options
ACPI_ACTIVATE_DEV' were added to i386 GENERIC_LAPTOP when PCI fixups
were [1]reworked, but none of the `child at acpi?' were added as well;
that's what causes the error messages you reported.
So, either build a kernel without ACPI (commenting out the two lines
mentioned above), or add some of the `child at acpi?' devices.
