FW seems to be working fine. USB2 also works; on one of the external
USB2 disks I have to make sure I use additional power (from another
USB1.1 port via a special cable) to get it working; otherwise sd0
device does not appear (the obvious guess is the power provided by the
hub in the combo card is insufficient).

The problem is after umount of all devices, connected to either FW or
USB2 on this combo card, when I try to eject the card itself, I get
the panic - apparently in the USB code -
uvm_fault(0xc069a2c0, 0, 0, 1) -> 0xe
kernel: page fault trap, code=3D0
Stopped in pid 481.1 (usb1) at netbsd:usbd_alloc_xfer+0x11: call *0x14(%edx=
)
The speed is what one would expect - reading ~1.7 GB in ~7 min;
interesting - I was never able to make this device work on either
W2000Pro or W/XP SP2 - no matter what search for drivers I did...
NetBSD-Current required just the kernel rebuild as described above.
This was my first use of 1394 on -current; I had followed earler
discussions about the state of it and was expecting some problems, but
everything was fine; on another topic, I have a Sitecom PCI USB2/1394
combo on a different 3.99.9 system, this works also perfectly.
