messages to new syslog

1)
My kernel messages logged through the new syslog give logs as such:
(machine name "z", interface x.x.x.x).
"...
Nov 18 17:49:36 z /netbsd: wsdisplay0: screen 4 added (80x25, vt100 emulation)
Accounting star z /netbsd: ted
Connection atte z /netbsd: mpt to TCP x.x.x.x:53 from 203.41.11.235:1812
pid 9197 (conft z /netbsd: est), uid 100: exited on signal 11 (core dumped)
Connection atte z /netbsd: mpt to TCP x.x.x.x:3128 from 125.224.192.164:2497
Nov 19 04:54:01 z syslogd[176]: last message repeated 2 times
Connection atte z /netbsd: mpt to TCP x.x.x.x:3128 from 125.224.192.164:1766
Nov 19 05:34:33 z syslogd[176]: last message repeated 2 times

Connection atte z /netbsd: mpt to TCP x.x.x.x:3128 from 118.168.129.79:1788
..."

The first line listed from the end of the system msg buffer and the buffer is
logged correctly. Other kernel messages get warped.

2)
Messages from foreign sources drop several arguments and give:
"...
Jan  1 09:59:59 Nov 19[05:13:15:]: list 111 denied tcp 202.109.114.173(53089)
-> 0.0.0.0(22), 1 packet
Jan  1 09:59:59 Nov 19[05:27:39:]: list 111 denied tcp 218.23.105.25(43182) ->
0.0.0.0(22), 1 packet
..."

instead of something like:
"Nov  1 05:27:00 router 1298: Oct 31 18:26:59: %SEC-6-IPACCESSLOGP: list 111
denied tcp 85.198.83.204(41378) -> 0.0.0.0(22), 1 packet"

I thought this one was fixed (?)

Surely I'm not the only person seeing these problems.

(x86 machine)

Regards,
Geoff
