Hmmm, I've rebooted my 5.99.7 amd64 systems (current as of yesterday morning,
maybe 30 hours ago), and I don't have a /ldconfig.core on any machine.

If you're running amd64, why is your ldconfig i386? Perhaps there's a clue
in there somewhere?
