Why do you think I made such a stink when softupdates was removed? :(
The plan at the time was to add a mode to WAPBL to prevent this,
similar to the method found in ext3, but none of the people who know
the WAPBL innards seem to be interested in actually doing so.

If nobody else does, I'll probably do it sooner or later... or
something... but that's likely to end up being later.

(sigh)
