Well, just to be contrary, I have not had any problems with the adaptec
cards I have. Admittedly they are all PCI cards but they seem to do
the job for me. I have one that drives my LTO2 tape drive decently and
I used another in a machine that was doing a paralell ACSI-33 disk wipe
of 10 - 12 disks at a time, in other words very high write/read traffic
without issues.
