Depending on what the attribute means, this actually might need to be
"The file can be opened only for writing in append mode.".  (This is an
example of why the misplaced "only"s are misplaced: it's not clear what
they apply to.)

I also see various typos, which I somehow couldn't see when reading it
over before sending :-(, but as they're not in replacement text, I
won't bother fixing them individually.
