Need help, using /etc/hosts Solaris

OK been searching for an answer. Did try to add IPv6 to /etc/hosts like
they used in a Linux issue like this. Didn't work. I changed a IP for one
of my servers, turning down the old IP. My nsswitch.conf points to files dns.
I have killed sshd, nscd and have even shut down dns. When I ssh hostname
it keeps going to the old address. Ftp, telnet, ping ...etc work and go to the new
address. I have removed the name and IP from known_hosts. So where is sshd
(scp) getting the old IP? Solaris 9 and patched.
