Most cases for INSTALLATION_DIRS/AUTO_DIRS use it because
(a) upstream forgot a directory or
(b) additional directories are needed for pre/do/post installation

In the second case, you already have to copy files, so this is trivial.
The first case is exactly that, an exception, so the overhead is
relatively low. The problem is that many of the cases for the former
have been found in bulk builds only, because the PLIST would have
changed otherwise.
