I believe gawk is good enough for pkgsrc unless some nawk-isms were
introduced during the last few years ;-).

Maybe HP-UX and SCO have the same problem. I don't know.

All this is true for mawk-1.3.3 unmaintained for alamost 15 years but
mawk-1.3.4 released by new maintainer is much, much better, though it
still has some problems that may cause some problems for pkgsrc.
