Sorry about that, I thought I'd checked that it was coming through but
apparently I slipped up. It is fixed now.

It remains unclear to me why an apparently arbitrary set of variables
has to be passed explicitly in each package, while others make it
through by default. And why the behavior seems to vary so much from
package to package.
