Re: CVS commit: pkgsrc/fonts/awesome-ttf
Thanks for updating the package - perhaps you could be a bit more
explicit about what changed the next time, please?
You see, we're not all telepathic, and don't have your gifts, when
looking at commit logs, or email, or rss feeds, or tweets, or whatever
medium, to know what changed. And, really, we know that the package
has been updated - that's what our version control system does. But
the reason for change, unfortunately, doesn't just come to us out of
the ether - it's something that you know, and, really, something we'd
love to find out too.
Let's see, awesome-ttf is a font package, so... maybe there is a new
alphabet in there? Or perhaps it's a change of the kerning structure
for "f" followed by some other vowel? Or maybe they've decided to
include emoticons? Licensing? Switch to a new distribution format?
Added advertising on each occurrence of the word "zanzibar" in an
italic typeface at 14 point? Inquiring minds would love to know.
Of course, putting a concise list of changes into the update mail
would also mean that you don't receive annoying emails like this.
Thanks,
Alistair
