Yes. and the rc.d script doesn't provide any filename to cpuctl, at all.

The cpuctl(8) man page talks about AMD firmware exclusively, but there
is no firmware for AMD cpus, neither in base nor pkgsrc... plus,
www.amd64.org has gone AWOL.
Sounds like bit rot.
