A good advice for projects hosted at github is to look at the
"releases" page:

I wish pkgsrc developers would spend one or two minutes editing
each update message instead of wasting everyone's time and disk
space with ten pages worth of changelog copypasta that nobody can
be bothered to read. If it doesn't fit in 73x22 characters, please
do cut some parts out.
