All,
Thanx to recent help I have now installed gnome-base.
However, I seem to have an issue with gnome-terminal. When I run it, the
terminal appears followed by an error box saying:
"There was an error creating the child process for this terminal"
The terminal stays open after pressing "ok" to the error box, but is
unusable. No cursor, nothing - just blank.
Running gnome-terminal as root from an xterm says this at the CLI:
(gnome-terminal:5978): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session
manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.
The permissions look ok to run the program:
$ ls -l /usr/pkg/bin/gnome-terminal
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root wheel 247376 Apr 5 15:17 /usr/pkg/bin/gnome-termina=
l
Hope you can help, once again.
Thanx
Phil.
