Actually, that's what I'm doing already, so I'm not compiling on NFS just accessing pkgsrc from it (unlike what I said above :-/). I guess the CREATE_WRKDIR_SYMLINK=no just doesn't create the work symlink to the local objdir (so that you can mount pkgsrc read-only?). I'd not seen that option
