Why is the i810 driver not built in xorg-server on amd64?
I just got an intel D945GTP board today, and went to use X. The i810 driver was not built, as it was listen in x11/xorg-server/options.mk
as excluded for the amd64 architecture. Well, to my delight, I built it anyway and it worked without any additional hacking nor configuration!
Given that the i810 supports chipsets found on the amd64 architecutre and works, shouldn't this be uncommented?
Granted there is no agpgart, but I get 1000fps in glxgears, which is faster than I got with a radeon PCI Express R423 on the same machine!
