freeciv sound problems and crash

Hello everyone ;)

I am experiencing trouble nowadays while playing freeciv... I have been for a 
long time unable to take any cities, no idea why ^ ^
but aside of that it recently failed with this error : 

Audio File Library: '/usr/pkg/share/freeciv/stdsounds/foot3.ogg': unrecognized 
audio file format [error 0]
1: Error while caching sample <-1>: confirm value != samples[].id

0: Detected fatal error in goto.c line 902:
0: No return path found!
assertion "FALSE" failed: file "shared.c", line 675, function "real_die"
Abort(core dumped)

Has anyone seen it already ? Does someone knows what can be done to fix it ? 
any clue to track this down ?
I check that the file existed and was readable with ogg123... dont know what I 
can do more...

We have just few games in pkgsrc, but I d like them to work as much as possible 
;) I dont want to have to go back to windows :p haha ;)
