I got this message tonight when trying to update my local copy of pkgsrc to pkgsrc-2006Q2 via CVS: cvs update: warning: cannot open /cvsroot/CVSROOT/val-tags read/write: Permission denied After that I got messages saying that just about everything wasn't in the respository: cvs update: devel/z80-asm/patches/patch-ac is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/DESCR is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/Makefile is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/PLIST is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/buildlink3.mk is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/builtin.mk is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/distinfo is no longer in the repository cvs update: devel/zlib/patches/patch-aa is no longer in the repository cvs update: distfiles/.cvsignore is no longer in the repository cvs update: doc/BRANCHES is no longer in the repository cvs update: doc/CHANGES-1997 is no longer in the repository cvs update: doc/CHANGES-1998 is no longer in the repository cvs update: doc/CHANGES-1999 is no longer in the repository cvs update: doc/CHANGES-2000 is no longer in the repository cvs update: doc/CHANGES-2001 is no longer in the repository This kept going until I killed cvs. I originally got this on the anoncvs2.us.netbsd.org mirror, but I switched to the main CVS respository (anoncvs.netbsd.org) and the same thing happened. I updated the repository about five days ago on another computer and didn't have this issue. Does anyone know why this is happening? - Dave V.
