Yes indeed, a reinstall of py24-wxWidgets-2.6.3.3.tgz did the trick. I
could have sworn I just installed x11/py-wxWidgets from source
yesterday, but maybe I was mistaken.

Or are there file conflicts between packages? This is what I just saw:
