Ditto. The good thing is that the system wasn't down - I was able to
ssh from elsewhere and 'vbetool post' brought it to it's senses...

So basically I confirmed what tnn@ was saying - close, but no cigar as
far as Xorg 1.4 and xf86-video-intel 2.2.0. My other box with
modular-xorg-server 1.4 has a Matrox G200 (DRM fails for different
reason, can't remember now).
Reverting to modular-xorg-1.3 and xf86-video-intel 2.1.1 restored DRI
(I had to revert a few other packages as well - libdrm from 2.3.1 to
2.3.0 - ...-intel 2.1.1 does not compile with the latest libdrm).
