postfix and unknown mail transport trouble

hello list,

I'm having trouble with postfix (from pkgsrc), when built with openssl
(also from pkgsrc). Then, sending mails doesn't work.
They get stuck in mailqueue with "unknown mail transport".  Other than
that it seems to work just fine.
maillog says: warning: private/smtp socket: malformed response
Unfortunately, I'm not getting any "fatal" log entry.

Everything works out fine, when built with openssl from base.

My mk.conf says:
PREFER.openssl=pkgsrc
PKG_OPTIONS.postifx+=mysql

I have changed mailer.conf to match the pkgsrc-versions.

I don't know what causes the problem. And I'm running out of ideas,
but I'm willing to provide any additional infos.

Any ideas what can cause this phenomenon ?

ps: I'm running NetBSD 4.0 (i386)
pps: I could reproduce this problem with two fresh installs (4.0) from scratch.
