About OCaml working on alpha, I can only say that we have it
installed (NetBSD 2.1.0_STABLE on alpha):

I don't know *how* well it is working, though. If you give me some
hints on how to test it, i'd be happy to do it.

Back to wyrd, I tried to build it. Here is what I get (wyrd 1.4.4;
the current pkgsrc is 1.4.1 rev1):
