emulators/simh, ethernet, and 64 bit
Hi,
I've been trying to get simh, recently updated to 3.8.0, to work with
networking support on 64 bit systems. On 32 bit (i386, PowerPC, NetBSD 4,
NetBSD current, Mac OS X), ethernet works fine, but on 64 bit (amd64, PowerPC,
NetBSD 4 and current, and Mac OS X), ethernet doesn't work. It compiled,
attaches, and the host OS (NetBSD on VAX) configures the interface, but no
traffic passes. No packets ever reach the wire. However, packets do get to the
emulator, as one can see from tcpdump.
Does anyone have any idea what about 64 bitness might be breaking ethernet
support?
Thanks,
John Klos
