pulseaudio broom

Hi,

After a period of time since started, pulseaudio starts to play with a
distrubing distortion - a "broom" that sounds like a scratched vinyl
record. Killing PA and restarting it seems to solve the issue - until
next time.

I observed that the problem appears after launching big applications
like firefox or openoffice, while building a package, or during high
disk activity. Changing PA scheduling class to SCHED_FIFO and/or setting
priority to 63 doesn't change anything. Also, starting builds with low
priority with nice doesn't change anything - sooner or later PA starts
"brooming". Any ideas ?
