Hi Dovecot users, Dovecot version 2.0.x is now available as pkgsrc/mail/dovecot2. There are a few important changes you should be aware of: 1) Configuration is moved into a subdirectory pkg_sysconfdir/dovecot, split in multiple files, and a lot of settings have been changed. You have two options to upgrade your configuration: - convert your old config using the "doveconf" tool (into a single and minimal new config file) - diff your old config to the old default, and start over using the new config templates. The dovecot2 package will simply ignore your old configuration, so without intervention, Dovecot will startup with the default config which is probably not what you want! 2) The dovecot-sieve and dovecot-managesieve options are gone, Sieve support is now available as a separate package: mail/dovecot2-pigeonhole (as the new implementation that no longer requires patching dovecot). 3) The default Sieve port was changed to the IANA-assigned port 4190 (instead of 2000), so change your configuration if needed. You can configure Dovecot to listen on both ports if desired. Also, the protocol is now referred to as the IANA-registered "sieve" in the configuration (instead of "managesieve"). See http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot-news/2010-September/000171.html for more information on the new Sieve implementation. See http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Upgrading/2.0 for more information on upgrading Dovecot. The mail/dovecot package will continue to track the 1.2.x version branch.
