I can't tell from your mail what's wrong, and even what you think isn't working. So random hints: presumably you installed updated userland; that's only 90% clear. post your mk.conf it's not clear if you had any failures to build packages. Please be clearer about what has worked and what has not. you didn't explain what you expected to happen and what did, and why you think it's wrong. you should be debugging qt/kde and X separately. What if you just xinit with no .xsession, and run twm? Can you start xterms, xclocks, etc.? If that doesn't work kde certainly isn't going to.
