Further, I tried compiling on Fedora 16 - i386 today. To my utter surprise
this error was present there, too. I have always compiled XSB on Fedora
for several years across several releases and it was never a problem. I
was/am using release 3.3.3 on Fedora as of now.

Sorry, the overall description of the issue changes to - latest release
3.3.5 not working on i386 now instead of on NetBSD. Will keep posted if I
find anything further.
