Cairo text problems

Is anyone else seeing corrupted text on NetBSD since the recent update
to graphics/cairo ?

From what I could see searching the web there is nothing wrong with
Cairo itself, the problems are in Xorg and it's drivers.

Since we can't easily update base Xorg in NetBSD, would it make sense
to roll Cairo back to 1.10.2 ?
