RE: pkg_add question
Of course. I do have them as pkg1-ver.tgz and pkg2-ver.tgz
But it still does not pick up from PKG_PATH

Yes, but you need to use 'pkg1-ver.tgz', not 'pkg1.ver.tgz'.
