I reported the same some times ago to no response. I am getting the same - the binaries are for amd64.

I don't see this problem.

I got pkgsrc.tar.xz from here:

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/current/

And there are no packages in it:

$ tar tzf pkgsrc.tar.xz | grep '/packages/.*\.tgz'

$

Where did you get your pkgsrc.tar.xz?
