For maintainer it's perhaps good enough, but for many other variables,
e.g. MASTER_SITES, there's a big difference.

Example, www/firefox:
# make -V MASTER_SITES
${MASTER_SITE_MOZILLA:=firefox/releases/${FIREFOX_VER}/source/}
# make show-var VARNAME=MASTER_SITES
